Sunnex, Inc., a leading manufacturer of lighting solutions, offers ColorLight™, a unique ultra violet (UV) light that is designed to improve flight safety for helicopters by providing an additional method to enhance visibility during landing when radar is no longer useful. It is particularly well-suited for use during inclement conditions.
By preparing the circle and the H on the landing platform with a fluorescent coating, ColorLight will make any inclement disturbances disappear while highlighting the fluorescent surface. The use of UV-light replaces white light in landing operations, thus helping to reduce the risk of reflections that can disturb night vision. The ColorLight system can be installed on board ships with helicopter platforms, on land or at elevated heliports. When installed in a pre-set position, ColorLight emits a 15 degree angle and its reflector opening is 210mm.
ColorLight can project invisible UV beams that are able to cut through the dark during periods of rain, fog and snow. ColorLight features a durable stainless steel housing, weighs between 7 and 8 kg, and comes standard with a white with red striped finish, or is available with a custom electro-polished finish. ColorLight is IP 66 approved for heavy seas.
